About Katrina Hall

I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social work (AASW), who is able to offer individual counselling and support.

Prior to my counselling role, I have had extensive experience in both the health and community sectors including: aged care; youth and family work; out of home care; and hospital social work, rehabilitation and oncology.

In the last 10 years I have chosen to focus more on counselling, participating in extensive professional development to be up-to-date with the latest theoretical understandings and clinical practice.

In addition to my Bachelor of Social Work, I also have completed a Diploma in Counselling and a Graduate Certificate in Grief and Bereavement (Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement, Melbourne).

Prior to my life as a social worker, I was a division 1 nurse for 10 years, with experience in surgical and oncology/haematology.

I moved from northern Victoria to the beautiful northwest Tasmania several years ago. I enjoy the outdoor environment and the friendliness of locals.

My approach

I strive to be accepting, inclusive and non-judgemental in my approach.

As a social worker I strongly believe in upholding the values of social justice, empowerment and respect for every person.

I believe in enhancing community/social connection that is shown to be an important part of our mental health and well-being.

I continue to be intrigued by the uniqueness of each individual and what they bring to the counselling room – their story, knowledge, experiences and personality!

I believe in helping people to fulfill their potential and I enjoy the rewards of seeing positive change in people’s lives.

I look forward to working with you and together finding ways to work towards achieving the life you want to live.
